Dear Voters and My Area 2 Family,

As a passionate advocate for education and community, I am relying on your support to earn the opportunity to represent YOU & YOUR INTERESTS as the Area 2 Trustee Candidate (and eventually your elected official).

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I write to you today as a candidate for the position of Area 2 Trustee for the Alameda County Board of Education. It is with great humility and a profound sense of purpose that I present myself as your dedicated advocate for education and a champion of our community's future.

As a mother, I understand firsthand the immeasurable value of a quality education. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. My own journey as a parent has deepened my appreciation for the significance of a strong educational foundation, one that nurtures intellectual growth, fosters creativity, and instills core values. I believe that by working together, we can create an educational environment where every child feels supported, empowered, and prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

My professional background as a financial professional equips me with valuable skills that I believe are vital in ensuring sound decision-making and responsible fiscal management within our education system at the county level. I have spent years navigating complex financial landscapes, developing budgets, and making strategic investments. I am committed to ensuring that our tax dollars are spent efficiently, prioritizing resources to meet the needs of ALL students and educators, and maximizing opportunities for academic success.

Education has always been at the heart of my personal journey. As a college graduate, I have experienced firsthand the transformative power of knowledge and the doors it can open. I believe in the importance of equitable access to education, regardless of one's background or circumstances. It is my unwavering commitment to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their zip code or socio-economic status.

Beyond my professional and educational experiences, I am deeply ingrained in our community as a passionate activist and leader. I have actively engaged in various community initiatives, working shoulder to shoulder with fellow residents to address pressing issues that affect our children and families. Through my involvement in grassroots organizations and volunteering efforts, I have seen the incredible power of collaboration and the positive impact it can have on our community. I pledge to bring this same spirit of collaboration and advocacy to the Board of Education, listening to your concerns and ideas, and working diligently to bring about positive change.

Today, I ask for your support and trust. Together, let us forge a path toward educational excellence, where each student is inspired to dream big, equipped with the necessary tools to succeed, and supported by a strong network of educators, parents, and community members. Your vote is not just a vote for me but a vote for a brighter future for our children and the generations to come. I am eager to connect with each of you, to listen to your aspirations, and to understand the challenges we face as a community. Please feel free to reach out to me at connect@sycoywalton.com or (310)654-8820. I am here to be your voice, your advocate, and your tireless servant. Together, let us shape the educational landscape of Alameda County and build a foundation that will empower our children to thrive.

In Service & Partnership,

Stephisha Ycoy-Walton
